Processing 1.0 Experiments

Matrix Jeddy

Matrix Jeddy

I’ve been experimenting with Processing and motion capture. I took the brightness data from the web-cam pixels and converted to points in 3d space. Then i added some sin movement in the z space to get it to fluctuate. There is a tutorial for how to do this with just an image on the processing 1.0 web site if you are interested in seeing how the bitmap conversion works. There are other examples for motion capture on my vimeo page as well.

2008 Baja 1000

November 26th, 2008 admin Posted in Webfolio | No Comments »

I did all the motion graphics and programming for the Baja 1000 site for this year (2008). The timeframe on this site was ridiculously fast. The last day I actually worked for 36 hours straight, because we had to get the site finished before the race started. I would never do that again…

I got to use my new flv player, Mr FLV Head, on this site. He saved me about 3 days worth of work. I built Mr. FLV Head following the “decorator pattern”… so you can add and remove features in whatever order you like. Its the best flv player ever… and you can’t have it… yet.

Nintendo Sluggers

September 4th, 2008 admin Posted in Webfolio | No Comments »

Created screensavers for the Nintendo Sluggers Wii game. The screensavers take a bitmap image of the sluggers card and flip using papervision 3d. Also, a slight Bend is added using the script created by Every Day Flash. I have also thrown in some particles using the flint particles system. I did all the programming and motion graphics while working at Struck Creative.

Used Car Ambush

September 4th, 2008 admin Posted in Webfolio | Comments Off

Used car ambush is a Punk’d style website that suprises real car sellers. I did the motion graphics and programming for the “behind the scenes” and “training tips” sections. I used after effects to create the dvd menus and then converted those to flvs to control within flash using net stream and as3. I did all the programming and motion graphics while working at Struck Creative.

OCAC

Programmed a painting application for the Oregon College of Arts and Crafts site. The painting tool allows the user to choose different brushes, backgrounds and colors to create a digital piece of art which they can email to someone — their Mom? One interesting piece of code is the trig used to get the angle of the users mouse and stretch the paint brush in the proper direction. It’s a little dirty… but it’s makes creating a paintbrush really easy. I programmed the painter application while working at Fashionbuddha.

Dylan Coulter

June 4th, 2007 admin Posted in Webfolio | No Comments »

Recently completed a photography site for Dylan Coulter. The challenge with this site was creating a fullscreen scrollbar that would adjust based on any size (or multiple in some cases) monitor(s). It’s wonderful to see this on 30″ monitors… or even two. Also interesting is the portfolio navigation. It was built with a recursive loop that keeps nesting clips inside the last. A nice way to handle any number of menu items. This site was programmed while working for Fashionbuddha.

Finished all the programming for Bent Image Lab. This site was done all in Object Oriented AS 2.0 and started in 2006. The backend is a series of XML documents that allow for easy updating. The video player was created from scratch and began as a personal project before being used on the Bent site. The design was done by Fashionbuddha.

I built the game logic and did animations for these Study Dog educational games. It was all done in OO-Actionscript 2.0. I noticed that 2 of 3 showcased examples are the 2 I worked on. Check MS Consanants and Spelling First Grade.
